"Stopping By Woods" drawings
After one reading of this book of Robert Frost's classic poem as illustrated by Susan Jeffers, the kindergarten students made these drawings on their own:
The kids were waiting for their turn to do styrofoam printmaking at the "teacher table". The teacher can claim no credit for their creations.
Jeffers' illustrations obviously pulled the children into a snowy world of woods and animals.
This is Texas. The kids have little personal experience with snow, although last winter was snowier than usual.
This is all the snow I need until after New Year's. I'll be driving down here from Nebraska, bringing my dad all bundled in buffalo robes. We will look for that hollow tree with five owl holes!
